Delirium is a dystopian YA novel about a world which love is seen as a disease and those who are infected by it turn into mad men.
I actually read this book awhile ago and it fulfilled my expectations. It is exactly what a YA novel should be like physically and content-wise. It has an interesting cover of the face of a girl, and it is fairly thick so the reader can feel a sense of pride by the time they finish. THe plot context goes : 1) main character girl with the poetic name was satisfied with society, 2) she broke the rules for the first time thanks to her rebellious best friend, 3) meets the guy of her dreams, 4) have a fight with the guy of her dreams even though they just met, 5) meet the guy of her dreams again later even they fought, 6) become rebellious herself, 7) run away to freedom and the wilderness of the unknown, 8) the guy makes a sacrifice and gets injured at some point in the novel( sometimes optional).
Delirium is exactly how I imagined it would be. Not to say that's a bad thing, because the plot and the cover strategy may be what got so many people hooked in the first place.
